Want to learn the basics of working with content creators on YouTube? Below are our answers to your most frequently asked questions.
Different Types of YouTube Content
"What's a YouTube pre-roll?"
In a YouTube pre-roll, the YouTuber will integrate your product at an optimal moment within the first few minutes of a video.
"Do you offer YouTube pre-rolls?"
Normally we do not offer pre-rolls. However, this is open to discussion depending on product type, video type, content creator's preferences and your requirements.
"What's a mid-roll?"
In a YouTube mid-roll, the YouTuber will integrate your product at an optimal moment around the middle of a video, usually within the first half of the video.

"What's an end-roll?"
In a YouTube end-roll, the YouTuber will integrate your product at the very end of the video.

"On mid-rolls and end-rolls, can I choose the video topic that my product is integrated into?"
Sometimes. Usually it depends on the video topic. Integrations into popular product launches, such as iPhone, are in high demand, and may not be available.
In addition, requesting a specific video topic could delay the launch of your integration. This is because the deadline becomes based on the YouTuber's content calendar, which might not align with your desired date.
"What's a YouTube dedicated video?"
A dedicated video focuses on your product only.

"How long does a YouTube dedicated video last?"
There is not an exact time. We do not guarantee exact times. For reference, we recommend reviewing the channel of your desired YouTuber to work out an average. A dedicated video is likely to fall within that average.
"Do you guarantee a minimum length on YouTube dedicated videos?"
We do not guarantee a minimum length on YouTube videos.
"Do you guarantee a maximum length on YouTube dedicated videos?"
We do not guarantee a maximum length on YouTube videos.
"Are there any other collaboration types?"
We also offer long-term partnership collaborations, social media assets and more.
YouTuber Contract Negotiations
"Can I use my own contract when working with content creators?"
Yes you can, but we need a word document version of your contract to review and edit. If we make any changes to your contract we will highlight them, so that you can review them easily.
"Do you have a contract?"
Yes we have our own contract. In most situations we are happy to use your contract or our contract.
"Who owns the content?"
The content creator owns the content.
"Can my brand use the content creator's content?"
Normally yes, but this requires the purchase of a content license.
Content Briefing Essentials
"Should I provide a brief for the content creator?"
Yes a brief is essential. Without a brief, the content creator does not know what key points or messages you want them to focus on.
"What information should I include in the brief?"
Make your brief as simple as possible. We recommend one page maximum. Include this in your brief:
- Brand Name:
- Product Name:
- Product Link(s) For Video:
- Product Price:
- Product Discount %: (if applicable)
- Product Discounted Price: (if applicable)
- Discount Start/End Date:
- Preferred Launch Date:
- Must-Have Messages: 2-3 for short integrations / 3-5 for long integrations / 4-8 for dedicated videos
- Nice-to-Have Messages: (optional)
"Do you have an example of a good brief?"
We cannot share the briefs of other brands. However, here is a template you can use.
"Besides a brief, is there anything else a content creator needs?"
Contextual information on your company, and the product, is helpful, but not essential. Some brands like to provide a PowerPoint with background information, helping the YouTuber to learn more about the company, the product, etc. This is optional and should not be attached to the brief.
